Methodology
As a translator, it is essential to have a rigorous and efficient working methodology in order to ensure quality translation. That is why I have developed a five-step methodology that allows me to meet the highest standards in terms of accuracy and coherence, while remaining true to the meaning and content of the original text:
-
Analysis of the source text: In this first stage, I make a detailed analysis of the source text in order to understand the content, terminology and the context of the document. This allows me to identify any cultural or regional elements that may be relevant to the translation, while it also allows me to establish a strategy to address any potential challenges that may arise during the process.
-
Research and consultation: If there are technical terms or concepts that I am unfamiliar with, I research and consult specialized sources to ensure the terminological and conceptual accuracy of the translation. I also use computer-assisted translation tools to ensure terminological consistency.
-
Translation: In this stage I translate the original text into the target language, and this is where I use all the knowledge and information obtained during the translation process.
-
Proofreading: Once the translation has been completed, I proofread and edit the text to ensure the quality of the text in terms of spelling, grammar and style. I also ensure that all the client's requirements are met, and that the format and structure of the translation are also appropriate to context.
-
Delivery: In this final stage the translation is sent to the client in the agreed format and by the agreed deadline. If the client has any queries, or if the original document has been subject to further modifications, additions or rectifications, I remain at your disposal so as to provide the necessary support.
